Introducing the new “SYSTEM LEADER DIRECTORY”

on .

DirectorySearching for aligned system leader support? Users can now access a System Leader Directory through which schools seeking support can easily make links and connections to system expertise. For example find an NLE, NLG, SLE in your area. The Directory is community sourced and managed to ensure an up to date system leader offer. It provides an enquiry workflow where users can make contact with a System Leader in their area (IT WILL NOT SHARE OR EXPOSE THE CONTACT EMAIL ADDRESS OF A SYSTEM LEADER).

The CPD Portal’s System Leader Directory has recently undergone development during the Summer. The new Directory now includes listings for individual system leaders. With over 800 system leaders now listed, the directory is the place to find aligned system leader support across SW England. There are a number of search options when seeking support from system leaders through the directory, from name, designation and location. The new updated version of the directory became available across the region on the 1st October 2019. You can view an overview video here https://cpdportal.link/directory.

Join the Community and Add Yourself to the Directory

The Directory is only as good as the information listed in it and relies on the community of System Leaders across the region to keep it updated. We'd especially like to see submissions from SLEs across the region.

System Leaders can add themselves to the directory by simply visiting the directory HERE.

From the ‘More Directory Options’ menu select ‘Add an Entry’ and complete the entry form.

National Drama - Primary Initiative

on .

National DramaNational Drama (ND) is the largest national association for drama teachers and theatre educators. We recognise that there has been an absence of high quality drama CPD for primary teachers in recent times and so we are investing both time and resources to provide support for teachers to develop their skills and understanding of teaching and learning through drama.

Drama provides children with opportunities to explore, engage and perform through a collaborative arts process. Drama is a subject in which children develop skills and knowledge simultaneously. During this CPD, teachers will experience a powerful pedagogy that will enhance their approaches to literacy, cross-curricular topics and social inclusion. Teachers will leave the CPD with resources and ideas that they can develop and implement in their own classrooms and school.

On Wednesday 20th November 2019, we are offering schools a half-day CPD workshop (1.15-4.30 pm) at:

West Monkton CE Primary School

Bridgwater Road

Bathpool

Taunton

TA2 8FT

The workshop will be facilitated by nationally-renowned practitioners and is designed to introduce teaching strategies that will enhance learning through drama across the KS1 and KS2 curriculum. The subsidised fee is £30.00 per teacher and registration can be made in the following ways:

PE Commission EOI

on .

On 15th July 2019 the DfE published the School Sport and Activity Action Plan to improve pupil access and opportunity to high quality PE lessons and school sport in primary schools.

The DfE would like to test and learn how a small number of teaching schools can support schools to deliver high quality PE lessons, co-ordinate PE CPD and support primary schools to make the best use of their PE and sport premium finding.

The Teaching Schools Council have been asked to broker this support and are, therefore, delighted to seek expressions of interest from interested Teaching Schools.

All TS Heads should have recieved the EOI form this morning but if you have any further questions about this commission, please contact one of your TSC National Representatives below:
