Primary Shanghai Exchange 2019

The Jurassic and CODE Maths Hubs, in partnership with Shiphay Learning Academy, are pleased to be welcoming two Chinese teachers from Shanghai for a two week period in January 2019. The exchange is part of a long-term project, run with the Maths Hub programme, to help teachers in English schools research mastery approaches to teaching mathematics.

The Chinese teachers will be hosted at Shiphay Learning Academy in Torquay for the duration of their stay. As part of the exchange there will be the opportunity to observe lessons in KS1and KS2, as well as participating in lesson discussions with the Chinese teachers.

There will be two showcase opportunities on the mornings of Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th January 2019.

Maths Opportunities to Join Collaborative Work Groups

The Jurassic Maths Hub coordinates a variety of free professional development programmes for teachers of mathematics from Early Years to Post-16.  Most of the work happens in small work groups which are groups of 6-20 teachers working together on focused aspects.  Locations of the groups is varied and spread across the region, sometimes in multiple locations. All of our work for this year can be seen here  with further information on ww.jurassicmaths.com.
