Develop mathematical subject knowledge and understand the pedagogy that underpins the teaching of it.
This Work Group is designed to support teachers in developing specialist knowledge for teaching mathematics, thus enabling them to understand, teach and support pupils in maths in the classroom. The programme is based on four core primary modules: number sense; additive reasoning; multiplicative reasoning and fractions. The work group will also explore the DfE Ready to Progress guidance to reflect on how we develop mathematical fluency and reasoning to ensure all pupils have secure foundations in the core areas.
